SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND ADDICTION
Millions of Americans struggle with substance abuse and addiction with harmful drugs and alcohol. In fact, according to the most recent national survey of drug use and health, nearly 1 in 12 adults in America had a substance abuse disorder last year. The consequences of substance abuse and addiction can be devastating for everyone involved-not just the person using, but their loved ones and communities as well.
Fortunately, there is help. With the right skills and knowledge, a person can recover from active addiction and regain a sense of self-esteem, health, happiness and productivity. For many people, the best places to learn and practice these skills are treatment programs.
If you have a family member or other loved one who is abusing or addicted to drugs or alcohol but refuses to take responsibility or get help, then you may want to learn more about how an intervention can help get him or her to seek help.
